Dear Reader:

I have always loved the written word. With its ability to stir emotions, change minds, hearts and lives, I believe it is one of the most powerful tools of mankind.

I fell in love with reading at a very early age. The small Alabama community I grew up in didn't offer many entertainment venues. Reading became an integral part of my life, carrying me to far away destinations where I met extraordinary people and experienced their daring adventures. Summer vacation would have been long and lonely if not for the weekly visits of the book mobile. I would check out several each week and devour them as quickly as possible. Then I would reread them slowly, savoring each word.

My head has always been filled with characters and storylines that kept me entertained. However, I had never sat down and tried to write more than a chapter or two. After several years with a major insurance company, I decided it was time for a change. I left my job and for two years, thanks to my amazingly supportive husband, caught up on my reading. Then, in 2001, I issued myself a challenge: Could I write an entire book? In May 2002, I completed my first manuscript. I still remember the incredible feeling of accomplishment and joy when I typed that very last word.

After I finished, I was certain that with the exception of the great classics, it was the best book ever written. Unfortunately no one else shared that opinion with me. After five years, four manuscripts, numerous rejections, and a move back to my home state of Alabama, I, at last, found that elusive creature called ‘voice’.

In June 2007, I accepted representation from my dream agent and a month later, she sold my romantic suspense trilogy to Ballantine. Yes, dreams really can come true.

The backdrop of my first two trilogies is an organization called Last Chance Rescue Enterprises. They employ some of the most highly skilled and ruthless mercenaries in the world with only one goal and purpose. These brave men and women do whatever it takes, no matter the risk, to rescue the innocent.

My second trilogy will be released in early 2010. Those covers will be posted as soon as I get them.
