Monday's Musings
Good Monday All-
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Did your team win yesterday? I was torn. Since I used to live in Indiana, I love the Colts, but since I always root for the underdog and with Drew Brees as the Saints' QB, who used to be the QB at Purdue, which was just five minutes from my house, I wanted to root for them too. Whew! What a conundrum. So, I just decided that either way...my team won.
No great reads to report for me this week. I spent most of my time finishing up page proofs for LAST CHANCE. Wait, I'll report that as a great read! Every time I read LAST CHANCE, I love it a little more. Can't wait for you guys to meet McKenna in NO CHANCE. I hope you like her as much as I do.
After finishing up page proofs, I went back to writing synopses for the new trilogy and spent some time looking into some advertising opportunities for the new trilogy. Be sure to tell your neighbors, friends and fellow romance readers that on February 23, NO CHANCE will be in stores. Would love to sell a zillion that first day. Well, okay, I don't think they're printing a zillion, but a couple of statewide sell-outs would be fun. (:
Enough about me, what about you? First, how much snow did you get? All we had was rain here, which I'm ever so grateful for as opposed to the frozen stuff. And what wonderful reads do you have to recommend for us this week? My TBR list is growing larger, but it can never be too large. Right?
We may have a special guest pop in sometime today. I know she's super busy, so in case she can't come by, I won't say who. However, if she gets the CHANCE, I know you'll be thrilled to hear from her. She's one of our favorites! Hopefully she'll tell us about one of her upcoming releases.
Okay, that's it for me. I'll come back from time to time and see what great books you're recommending. On Wednesday, I'll post again and give you a CHANCE to win an early copy of NO CHANCE.
Until later, stay safe and warm and keep on reading!

Happy Friday!
Hi Everyone-
Looks like it's going to be a cold, wet and snowy weekend. Perfect weather to do two of my most favorite things in the whole wide world. Yep, you got it...write and read!!!
I did hear a rumor of a little football game being played on Sunday, so might have to check that out too. So those are my weekend plans. What about you?
Yesterday, I finished up page proofs for LAST CHANCE and sent them on their way. Every time I read this book, I fall more in love with McKenna and Lucas. And I hope you will too.
Oh, and when I returned home yesterday, I found a box of books! You guessed it. My author copies of NO CHANCE. Yay!!! They're gorgeous and look just like they do on my website. I can't wait for you guys to see them.
I'm in the midst of ordering bookmarks and I've got to tell you, I'm almost as excited about them as I am about my CHANCE covers. They're so pretty!
As I mentioned to you a few weeks ago, I'm going to be doing a round of blogs and interviews around the time that NO CHANCE releases. I'm excited that I'll be blogging at Borders True Romance site on Monday, February 22. So please mark your calendars for that. Next week, I'll post again all the blogs I'll be visiting. Would love to see you at each one!
Our Monday group is growing and I'm thrilled! We've gotten some wonderful recommendations, which is great for readers and for authors. And how fabulous was it that Stephanie Tyler dropped by this week? Did you guys notice that she made the NYT list with Hold on Tight? How terrific is that? And it was well deserved. She is such a talented author.
Okay, I'm off to do some writing. Don't forget to drop by on Monday and tell us about all the fabulous books you read this week. Also, on Wednesday, I'll pop in and give you guys a CHANCE to win an early copy of NO CHANCE!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend. Stay warm and enjoy life to the fullest!

Monday's Musings
Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend, filled with fun and lots of good reads. My weekend was a busy one. I received page proofs for LAST CHANCE Friday morning and immediately jumped into them. For me, reading page proofs is one of the most difficult parts of writing. Well... Actually none of it is easy, but with page proofs, you have to be so careful. After writing the book and then reading it about hundred times, it's so easy to miss something. Every word has to be read...no skimming. You know why? Because it's the LAST CHANCE to change anything! *snort*
So, what did you read last week that you want the world to know about? What great books can you recommend?
We may have a couple of our favorite authors drop by this week, just to say hi, so be sure to stop by frequently to see if they were able to drop in. I know they'll love talking to you as much as I do! (:
Okay, I'm diving back into page proofs since they're due this week. I'll stop in and chat with you throughout the day.
So tell us: What fantabulous book do you want us to read this week?

Finally Friday
Hey All--
Friday finally got here. Yay! Hope you had a good week and are planning a fun weekend filled with all of your favorite things, most especially good reads!
I'm expecting page proofs to arrive anytime, so it'll be a busy weekend for me, but being blessed with work is a wonderful thing! And since this is my LAST CHANCE to change or add anything to LAST CHANCE, I'm definitely looking forward to it. (I'm so going to miss playing with these titles) (:
If you get the CHANCE, stop in and tell us what you're reading this weekend. And don't forget to come by on Monday and give us your recommendations from the great books you read. We may have a special guest drop by to say hi. I know she's incredibly busy so I won't mention her name in case she can't make it, but if she does, I know you guys will be thrilled!
Okay, that's it for me until Monday, but feel free to talk amongst yourself. I'll drop in from time to time and chat. Have a warm, safe and restful weekend!

Character Contest
Hi all, thanks for all the guesses! Some of the characters mentioned I haven't thought of since I finished RETURN TO ME, so I had to go back and do a bit of rereading myself!
The most guessed character was Justin Kelley, who I admit, struck me as an interesting fellow. However, after the scene was over, he never talked to me again. Maybe he was mad because Gabe beat him up!
And then, Kyle Macklin, who's description was quite intriguing too. A tall, gorgeous blond with the smile of an angel and the glint of devil in his green eyes. Wow!
A couple of people guessed Brad Fleming...easy on the eye, successful, pleasant. What more could a woman want?
All wonderful guesses! However, the RETURN TO ME character that caught my attention and has been talking to me off and on for two years is none other than Dylan Savage. Yes, I know he only growled and grimaced in RETURN TO ME, but he is an insistent young man and there's a woman in his future that desperately needs him. So, what can I say? I caved to his Southern charm. (:
And the winner is Ida! Congrats! Ida, email me your address so I can mail you your signed copy of NO CHANCE as soon as my copies come in.
Okay, don't go away yet. One LAST CHANCE to win. I'm giving a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card to the first person who posts here and tells me the name of the organization who freed Gabe from his prison. Hint: it's in the NO CHANCE excerpt.
Ready, set, post!
LCR Characters
Good Wednesday All!
As promised, we're going to talk about characters. One of the wonderful things about writing a series is introducing a character in one book and then having that character star in his or her own book. I've done this in each book and plan to continue until the series ends.
I so enjoy giving secondary characters their own book because knowing them for one or more books gives me an opportunity to learn who they really are. And that's another reason why I so enjoy having Noah return in each story. I love to see how he has evolved.
But now, let's focus on a character first mentioned in RETURN TO ME who will get his own book in the 2011 trilogy. You'll learn a little more about him in SECOND CHANCE and LAST CHANCE. He really captured my attention in SECOND CHANCE and turned out so differently than I thought he would. And now, after writing the synopsis for his book, I know why. A very interesting man!
But who is he?
So, here's what I want you to do. Email me at christy@christyreece.com and tell me who you think the character is. I'll collect the correct answers and then at 4:00 pm CST, I'll pop back on and announce the character and the winner. The prize will be a signed copy of NO CHANCE. Still don't have my author copies yet, but as soon as I do, I'll send one to the winner.
Also, I'll have a new contest starting at 4:00, so in case you never read RETURN TO ME, stop in for another CHANCE to win!
Also, if you have questions about the upcoming trilogy, NO CHANCE, SECOND CHANCE and LAST CHANCE, post them here. I'll answer questions about characters you might see and just about anything as long as it doesn't give away major plot points.
Whew, that's a lot, so let's recap. Email me at christy@christyreece.com for who you think a character mentioned in RETURN TO ME will star in their own book in 2011. Don't post your answer here because it won't be counted. Come back at 4:00 for the correct answer and winner announcement and plan on entering another contest. Which, by the way, the prize will be a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble, so definitely worth the return trip! And, ask me anything you like about the 2010 trilogy and I'll answer what I can.
Okay, let's get those emails started and have some fun talking about the upcoming LCR trilogy.

Good Monday!
Hi All
Hope you had a restful, relaxing weekend filled with all of your favorite things. My weekend was a busy one. I attended an RWA chapter meeting. Southern Magic, my home chapter, is so much fun. It was a day of talking about writing, the business of writing, our goals for the year and catching up with everyone. What a treat to sit down with wonderful, enthusiastic people who have the same interests. It's almost, not quite, but almost as much fun as talking to you guys about books!
So, what did you read this past week that you can recommend to us? I actually got to do a bit of reading myself, but since it's for a contest, I can't talk about the books. Bummer! But I'm so enjoying them.
But what about you? What did you read that you want your fellow readers to read too?
Oh, and as a reminder, as you know, the last Tuesday of the month is always big release Tuesday and two of our favorite authors have books coming out. I know you probably already know about them, but just in case, don't forget that Allison Brennan has a new series, based upon the seven deadly sins. The first book, Original Sin, releases tomorrow. It looks awesome! And, Hold on Tight, Stephanie Tyler's last book in her trilogy, comes out tomorrow too. Lots of people looking forward to that one!
To authors, having readers buy their books is always incredibly special and so appreciated, but if at all possible, it's helpful to buy them the day or the week of the release if you can. Publishers look closely at those numbers and they can often get an author on a bestseller's list. Always a good thing!
Okay, plug for two of my favorites is over. Are there others you're looking forward to? If so, give us a heads-up!
Now, tell us what you read and maybe what you're reading this week too. And don't forget to come back on Wednesday. We'll have some giveaways and talk characters for the 2011 trilogy. Can't wait to find out who you think the RETURN TO ME character starring in their own book will be!
